Carpinae Atlas of the World vol. I / II
Carpinae Atlas of the World vol. I / II
CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World (Volumes I and II)
This monumental two-volume set provides an extensive reference for those passionate about mountain wildlife, conservation, and hunting. Curated by Gerhard R. Damm and Nicolás Franco, with contributions from leading experts in the field, this Atlas offers a detailed overview of the Caprinae subfamily, focusing on the taxonomy, biology, phenotypes and conservation of wild sheep, goats, and antelope species of 96 phenotypes across 80 countries. It is also our introduction to the new CIC Phenotype system, which aims to complement the existing taxonomic categorisation of the often confusing subfamily.
Volume I examines some of the most iconic species (Argali, Mouflon, Sheeps, Bharal, etc.), and their habitats, with a particular emphasis on the true goat and sheep phenotypes.
Volume II delves deeper into other species (Takin, Goral, Goats, Chamois, Ibex, Tur, Markhour, etc.), and their lesser-known populations and offers additional insights into their conservation and management.
With over 1000 spectacular images and expertly documented descriptions, this work serves as a cornerstone for wildlife conservationists, researchers, and passionate hunters as a key element of their toolkit.
